Scheduled Callback Service Replaces Open Phone Consultation Hours
Starting 7 July, students will be able to book scheduled telephone BAföG consultation appointments via our website. At the agreed time, they will receive a callback from the staff member responsible for their application. This allows students to discuss questions and concerns about BAföG without waiting on hold and within a reliable, pre-arranged time slot.
Scheduled telephone consultation appointments can be booked via Terminland on Tuesdays (and, depending on the responsible caseworker, also on Thursdays) between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Appointments can now be booked directly through our website.
The previous open telephone consultation hours on Tuesday mornings will be replaced by bookable callback appointments. The open telephone consultation on Wednesdays from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. will continue to be available.
Please note: Some consultations may take a little longer, especially if more complex issues need to be discussed. As a result, subsequent callback appointments may be delayed by a few minutes. Your scheduled callback will, of course, still take place.
Edith Hein, Managing Director of the Studierendenwerk, welcomes the new arrangement: “Students often have to juggle lectures, internships, exams, and part-time jobs. That leaves little time to call the BAföG Office repeatedly and hope to get through. With the new callback appointments, students know exactly when they will be able to speak to the staff member handling their application. This provides greater reliability and saves valuable time.”
Leander Jung, Head of the BAföG Office, also highlights the benefits: “Introducing scheduled callback appointments will make our BAföG advisory service significantly more efficient. Everyone benefits from this change: we will be able to provide reliable consultations to more students while improving planning certainty for both students and our staff.”
For matters that cannot be resolved over the phone, in-person consultation appointments can still be arranged at Österbergstraße 1.
