Collection of personal data
This app is designed to collect as little personal data as possible. Therefore, only data that is required for the technical functionality of the app is collected; if further data is required for individual functions, this will be presented transparently before collection.
Data collection when installing the app
The Studierendenwerk does not collect any data when installing the app; registration with the Studierendenwerk is not required. It is possible that the app store operators collect data during installation; the Studierendenwerk has no influence on this; we therefore ask you to observe the data protection information of the app store used.
Data collection when using the app
No personal data is required to use the internal functions of the app. However, external functions and content can be used via internet links. In this case, the data required to establish the connection (e.g. the user’s IP address) is passed on to the service that provides the external content.
Insofar as links are provided to Studierendenwerk web pages, the provisions of the data protection declaration there apply: as little data as possible is always collected, processed and used.
In the case of links to the pages of other providers, the respective regulations of these providers apply, over which we have no influence. Please be aware that providers such as Facebook, Google and Apple regularly store and analyse user data.
Data collection Analysis
Our app uses the analysis service Matomo. As the operator of this app, we have a legitimate interest in the anonymised analysis of user behaviour in order to optimise our offer if necessary. The protection of your data is important to us, which is why we have configured Matomo in such a way that no tracking cookies are used and your IP address is only recorded in abbreviated form. It is therefore not possible for us to draw any conclusions about your person. No information about the use of this app is passed on to third parties.

Data collection via email
Users of the app can send feedback to the Studierendenwerk via the contact form.
We are happy to receive feedback, but would like to point out that emails are largely transported unencrypted on the internet and can therefore be viewed by a larger group of people. For this reason, we ask users to send us as little data as possible about themselves by email, and no sensitive data.
The processing of the data entered in the contact form requires your consent. You can revoke your consent at any time. The legality of the data processing operations already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation.
Data collection for the competition
Insofar as personal data of participants is collected, processed and used in the context of the competition, it will be collected, processed and used by the Studierendenwerk exclusively for the purpose of conducting the competition and deleted after the competition has ended. The data provided will only be used to contact the winner and to administer the prize. The participant hereby expressly agrees to the storage and use of the personal data provided for the above-mentioned purpose.

A set of permissions is required on the user’s mobile device for the app to operate properly:
- View Network Status, View Full Internet Access, View Wi-Fi Status: This permission is required to communicate with our server interfaces and open links to the Studierendenwerk website via in-app browser.

You have the right at any time to free information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipient and the purpose of data processing as well as the right to correct, block or delete this data.

We would like to point out that you have the right to complain to the competent supervisory authority in the event of data protection violations. The competent supervisory authority in matters of data protection law is usually the state data protection commissioner of the federal state in which our company has its headquarters.
