TigeR stands for “(Kinder)Tagespflege in anderen geeigneten Räumen” (child day care in other suitable rooms) and is a unique concept that offers young children intensive care in structures close to their families. In cooperation with the Studierendenwerk and the university, the Tagesmütterverein e.V. Reutlingen offers the TigeR Duo One (bilingual concept) and Two. Only children of students and employees of Reutlingen University are cared for in these facilities. In addition, the Studierendenwerk supports the Campus-TigeR, another facility for toddlers under the age of three.
TigeR Duo
Together with TigeR Duo Two, TigeR Duo One is located in its own building at the entrance to the Reutlingen campus, which has been specially extended for childcare. The facility is located on campus in building 13 at Pestalozzistraße 59. There are two times nine places in groups One and Two for children from the age of one to three years. In TigeR Duo One, nine children are cared for up to the age of three. Twelve children can be registered in the place-sharing group. In the TigeR Duo Two group, the children are cared for bilingually in German and English. Core care is from 7 am to 5 pm.
Campus TigeR
Campus TigeR is a day care in suitable rooms for students’ children. On the edge of the campus at Pestalozzistraße 39, two day carers are available for care. There are nine places for children from the age of one to three. Core care is from 7 am to 5 pm.
Costs
The childcare costs depend on the number of hours of childcare. Financial support can be applied for at the Kreisjugendamt Reutlingen (for parents resident in the district). The subsidy is then staggered according to income. Parents receive all this information and the relevant documents during the information meetings. Interested parents can contact the Tagesmütterverein (childminders’ association) directly.
