Waldhäuser east (WHO)
The WHO students’ village is the largest housing complex in Tübingen with 1,732 rooms in a total of 24 buildings. The WHO is situated north-east of the town centre.
Fichtenweg 5 at the centre of the students’ village is home to the hall of residence department. The village council (Dorfrat) and the WHO Tutorium are student groups that look after the residents’ interests.
The WHO is very popular because of its wide range of leisure facilities with the “Kuckuck” students’ bar, the “Dodo” common room for film and games evenings, a barbecue area, a volleyball court, table tennis tables, a large hall with a stage and several music rooms.

French quarter
The Studierendenwerk runs three halls of residence in the French quarter south of the town centre on the site of the former Hindenburg barracks (Hibuka); there are some flats for students with children here.
Some of the residents are active on the village council and act as tutors for the students. There is also a students’ meeting point called “Sieben” and a common, music and fitness room at the Hibuka students’ village.

Old town
Tübingen’s old town with its narrow, winding streets, many half-timber houses and its beautiful location on the river Neckar is one of the most attractive town centres in southern Germany. The Studierendenwerk also has some halls of residence in the old town – and they are very popular because of their location.
There are shopping facilities, restaurants, bars, clubs and many more facilities very close to the halls of residence in the old town. It is also very easy to walk or cycle to many university buildings from there. However, there are few parking spaces near the halls of residence.

Five of the eight halls of residence in the old town in Tübingen are self-administered – i.e. the residents select the next tenants themselves. If you are interested in this kind of hall of residence, send in your online application and contact the current residents there at the same time.

Southern part of town
These four halls of residence are located south of the centre of Tübingen. The Südstadt area borders on the French Quarter and the town’s main railway station.
There are flats for couples and student families with children in two of the four halls of residence. There are plenty of shopping facilities in the Südstadt area.

Lustnau/Sand
Lustnau is located east of the centre of Tübingen and is the largest district in the university town. It is particularly known for its village-like character and its lively clubs and societies.
It is easy to reach the town centre on public transport or by bike. The university sports facilities and its “auf dem Sand” centres (computer science, astronomy, criminology) are also located nearby. There are also plenty of shops in Lustnau.

“Wanne” district
The “Wanne” district is located north-west of the town centre. The three halls of residence there are not far from the science institutes on the Morgenstelle campus.
You can reach the Morgenstelle campus and the town centre easily by bus. There are also shops there.
