Currently, the very high number of BAföG applications exceeds our staff capacity, so that processing takes considerably longer. We have therefore taken numerous internal measures to speed up the processing of applications.
You can also help to speed up the processing:
- Please refrain from asking questions about the status or completeness of the application, as these take up valuable processing time. Don’t worry – if any documents are missing, we will contact you.
- Do not submit documents more than once and in different ways. We accept documents via BAföGDigital, by post, fax or email (attachments only in jpg or pdf format. Zip files or links are not possible). No channel of receipt is preferred. Applications are processed chronologically according to the date of receipt.
- Please do not send us the original documents, as they are time-consuming to sort out and return.
