International Theme Week at Mensa Wilhelmstraße
From February 3rd to 7th, Mensa Wilhelmstraße will serve delicious dishes from the home countries of our chefs every day.
Want to get to know the chefs who prepare your lunch every day at the Mensa Wilhelmstraße? From February 3 to 7, you’ll have the opportunity! During this special action week, Head Chef Manuela Bogenschütz and her international team will introduce themselves with special dishes from their home countries.
“With this action week, we want to show how diverse and creative our team is—and how much passion goes into every dish,” say the Mensa managers Rudi Gaiser and Philipp Fritz.
Look forward to these delicious specialties:
Monday: Thuringia (Germany)
Thuringian Sauerbraten with Bread Dumplings or
Weimar potato soup with root vegetables, parsley and bread rolls
Chefs: Martin Zeuch and Ivonne Bannasch
Tuesday: Turkey
Mercimek Corbasi (Turkish Lentil Soup) with Vegetables and Flatbread or
Turkish moussaka with minced beef, feta cheese and potato slices

Wednesday: Poland
Bigos – Poland’s National Dish (Pork Goulash with Sauerkraut and Potatoes) or
Pierogi (dumplings filled with potatoes and quark) in onion cream
Chef: Kacper Mikulsky
Thursday: Afghanistan
Kabuli Palau (Rice Dish with Lamb, Almonds, and Raisins) or
Kadu Borani (pumpkin dish with honey, ginger, soya) with mint yoghurt and flatbread
Chef: Amir Qasimi
Friday: Swabia (Germany)
Swabian Cheese Spaetzle with Mixed Salad
Fried “maultasche” with egg and a potato-/cucumber salad
Chefs: Theresa Merscher and Jasmin Ruff
